The Packhorse South Stoke is continuing their struggle to re-open the pub, hopefully as a co-operative. If you love the pub and want to see it re-open then please complete their quick survey:

Great News!
Packhorse - Public Meeting and Share Prospectus launch - Tues 28th June 7.30pm Village Hall, South Stoke.

post reads:
Friends of Save the Packhorse ... a very exciting update.

As communicated to the village this weekend (when c. 130 people turned up to hear the news), after over four years of closure, we now have a serious opportunity to buy the pub back!

The Packhorse Community Pub Limited is delighted to announce that it has secured the opportunity to raise funds from the local community and interested investors, to purchase the Packhorse Inn in South Stoke.

Contracts have been exchanged with the owner with completion subject to a successful fundraising campaign (due to complete by end September).

For anyone who is interested in supporting this fantastic project, a public meeting will be held at South Stoke Village Hall on 28 June (starting at 7.30pm).

If you would like to receive a share prospectus, please leave your contact details at www.packhorsebath.co.uk/

Please share and help spread the word.

Anyone agree with me that The Bell should buy a share?

We definitely owe The Packhorse - the original facade of The Bell in the opening sequence of last year's video-mapping project was taken and adapted by me and Tom Newell (with permission from the Bath In Time website) straight from an old photo of The Packhorse, with its 17th century gabled roof.
