The Bell Inn – We’re closing (for a while)
The Bell is closing its doors after last orders have been drunk on Thursday 19th March 2020.
We don’t know when we’ll be opening them again, it will all depend on how long it takes to beat the crap out of COVID-19.
Sometimes it’s fine and principled to make a decision and stick to it through thick and thin.
Sometimes it’s just plain stupid. We announced only 2 days ago that The Bell would be staying open until HMG ordered to us close; now we’ve changed our minds. We hoped that we could keep our staff feeling safe while still providing the service and the welcome you have come to expect from The Bell. We were over-optimistic. There’s too much variability in
people’s responses to this virus for us to risk the health of our lovely staff, so with the greatest regret we’re shutting The Bell’s doors for an indefinite period.
We hope you cansympathise with our reasoning.
Our progress towards re-opening will be tied to the country’s recovery from this epidemic.
Watch this space, and as things get better we’ll let you know our plans. The re-opening party will be worth waiting for!
